The official website of the Indian Air Force has released the notification for AFCAT 02/2020.

 About AFCAT Examination

Basically, AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test. As the name displays, this test is being conducted by the Indian Air Force twice a year. Its first test is held in the month of February whereas the second one is in the window of August/September respectively. The aim of AFCAT 2020 is to select class-I officers from the Flying Branch and Ground Duties for Technical and Non-Technical as well.

AFCAT is generally an entrance test conducted to grant admission for candidates who wish to seek courses from the Permanent Commission (PS) and Short Service Commission (SSC). Both the courses i.e. Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission come under Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical) whereas SSC alone settles under Flying Branch. The results of these examinations are judged according to the performance of candidates and by the interview held by the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB).

About AFCAT 02/2020

As per the Notification of AFCAT 02/2020 released by the Indian Air Force, filling-up of the online applications is starting from 15 June 2020 and will last until 14 July 2020. The test is scheduled for grants in courses of Permanent Commission (PC)/ Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying branch and ground duties respectively which will be held in July 2021.

AFCAT Age Limit

AFCAT is the entrance for admission in courses for PC and SSC which are commencing from July 2021. Similarly, the age limit for flying branches is between 20 and 24 in that the candidate must have been born between 02 July 1997 and 01 July 2001. Besides all these, the candidates having a valid and current commercial pilot license issued by DGCA (India) have age relaxation of up to 26 years i.e. the candidate’s age should be between 26 years. They must also have been born between 02 July 1995 and 01 July 2001.

Further, for the Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical) branches the age limit is 20 to26 i.e. they must have been born between 02 July 1995 and 01 July 2001.

AFCAT Examination Fee

AFCAT 02/2020 examination will be held on an online basis which will be conducted in various examination centers. The interested candidates willing to apply for the examination need to pay Rs. 250/- which is non-refundable whereas the candidates applying through NCC and Meteorology special entry need not pay any cost.

How to pay the fee?

After completing the application form, you are redirected to payments option which can be filled either with online systems or by the challans. The challans can be filled at any nearest Axis and HDFC Banks.

How to apply for an examination?

Before applying or registering with the website, you need to take a quick overview of the eligibility criteria and all-important points. After that, click on candidate login, fill out the required details and we recommend you to save that application id into your system for future purposes. While filling the application, keep your documents with you to make it easy while entering details. Also, save your passport-sized photograph (size between 10 to 50kb) which you need to upload. Check the details once again before the payment option. Then go with the payments.
