IIT –JEE mains 2020: Application form, Admit card, Syllabus, Answer key
JEE (joint entrance exam) this is most commonly known as IIT JEE mains 2020, this main examination acts like the gateway for admission to engineering colleges in India like IITs, NITs, GFTIs, this exam is a national level examination and which is conducted by national testing agency (NTA). This examination occurs or it is conducted twice a year. By clearing this examination the candidates are eligible to take admission who want to make their career in engineering. Candidates can register themselves for various courses like B.E/B. Tech, B, Arch, and B.planning. This exam is conducted on the computer-based mode (CBT), the exam duration of this examination is 3 hours.
HRD minister Ramesh Pokhhriyal has announced the JEE’s main 2020 JEE exam date. Addressing the students through a webinar on Twitter and Facebook, the minister announced that the JEE main examination will be held from July 18 to 23, 2020.
JEE Main application form correction facilities have been closed. JEE’s main registration starts from February 7, 2020, last date to fill out the form – May 3, 2020 (5.00 pm). JEE mains admit card has to be announced, JEE main result it has not decided yet.
IIT- JEE mains 2020 eligibility
Candidates who wish to appear for IIT JEE main 2020 eligibility exam must meet the JEE main 2020 eligibility criteria specified by NTA. Those candidates who satisfy the NTA criteria will be able to give the exam and eligibility mentioned below for the JEE main examination
Age – there is no age limit mentioned by the NTA candidates that should meet the age limit requirement assigned by their respective institutions for which they desire to take admission.
Year of appearance
Candidates who have cleared their class 12 exams in 2018, 2019 are eligible. Candidates who are going to appear for class 12 board exams in 2020 can also apply for jee main 2020. Candidates who cleared the class 12 examination on or before 2017 are not eligible to appear for JEE’s main 2020 eligibility and exam.
Educational Qualifications for JEE Main 2020 Eligibility
Candidates must have at least 5 subjects in their class of 12 or equivalent exams, candidates who have passed 10+2 exam with Math and physics as compulsory subjects along with one in chemistry/biology are eligible.
Reservation criteria
For SC the reservation percentage is 15%, for ST, it is 7.5%, for OBC, it is 27% and the candidates who are physically challenged minimum of 40% for that candidates it is 30%.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR JEE MAIN APPLICATION FORM JEE main 2020
1- Valid id proof for JEE main 2020 – the candidates have any of the following id (Aadhar Card, Passport Number, Ration Card Number, Bank Account Number or any other valid Government ID Number),
2- Class 12 certificate ( if available),
3- Class 10 mark-sheet,
4- Net baking/debit card /credit card.
INSTRUCTIONS HOW THE FORM TO BE FILLED
The list of documents required for uploading while filling the online JEE mains 2020 application form is given below:-
- Recent photographs
- Candidate’s signature
Note: The image has to be in scanned photograph file format for photographs JPG/JPEG, a signature image file is in JPG/JPEG.
- The size of the photograph ranges from 10 KB to 200 KB and for signature image size 4 kb to 30 kb.
- Dimension of photograph 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm and for signature image the dimension is 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm.

HOW TO APPLY FOR JEE MAIN 2020 ONLINE REGISTRATION
Step 1: Registration-
The student has to visit the official site of JEE Main 2020: jeemain.nta.ac.in. Click on the new button. enter the details. Click on submit.
You will receive the system generated application number through email/SMS. Note that number for safely and further purposes.
Step.2 personal and academic details-
Now login with the help of your system generated application number. Enter all the necessary details carefully.
Click on proceed to the next.
Step :3- Uploading of image and signature-
Now upload scanned images of your photograph. Upload an image of your signature.
Step:4- Fee payment-
Now process the fee payment. make the payment of the fee using SBI-MOPS and keep proof as a record.
Step:5- Confirmation page
Now take out the print out.
JEE MAIN EXAM PATTERN
The JEE Main 2020 consist of three papers paper-1, paper-2, and paper-3.
Paper-1 for B.E./B tech admissions, Paper-2 is for B.Arch admission while paper -3 for B. planning Admission.
The paper -1: B.E/ B.Tech Admissions
(B. Tech) will have MCQs and numerical-value type questions from physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
Type of questions:– in this, there are 60 MCQs and 15 numerical value questions.
Marks distribution: Paper is of 300 marks -Physics is of 100 marks, Chemistry is of 100 marks and Mathematics is of 100 marks.
Marking scheme for MCQs and for Non-MCQs, for every correct response there is the addition of 4 marks and there will be one negative marking for a wrong answer and in non-MCQs, there will be no negative marking for the wrong answer.
PAPER -2: B.Arch
In this candidates have to give papers for mathematics, aptitude test, and drawing test.
There are 77 questions, 20 Math questions in the form of MCQs, and 5 questions are of numerical value questions, Aptitude -50 MCQs questions, and 2 questions are of drawing.
Paper is of 400, in which Mathematics is of 100 marks, Aptitude is of 200 marks, and drawing is of 100 marks.
Marking scheme- for every right answer the candidates will get +4, and every incorrect answer the candidates will get -1 in MCQs type questions and there will be no negative marking on an incorrect answer.
PAPER-3: B.Planning
Candidates have to paper for mathematics, Aptitude test, and planning based objective test, there are 20 MCQs questions for Mathematics and 5 are for numerical value questions, Aptitude questions are 50 MCQs type and the planning objective test is 25 of MCQ type.
The paper is of 400 marks, in which mathematics is of 100 marks, aptitude test 200 marks planning based objective test – 100 marks.

JEE MAIN CUT OFF DETAIL
Cut off for GENERAL people is 89.75, For GEN EWS is 78.21, For OBC candidates 74.31 FOR SC 54.01 for ST this is 44.31, and for PWD 0.11. This Cut-off is of last year’s Paper.
JEE Main Cut Off DETERMINING FACTORS
NTA will make the JEE Main cut off and cut off are made on various factors such as the number of candidates that appeared for the JEE exam, availability of seats, difficulty level of exams, and previous year cutoff.
JEE Main 2020 Exam Day Guidelines-
CANDIDATES MUST CARRY the following documents to the exam hall and those candidates who do not bring the document then those students will not be allowed to give the exam.
- Students have to arrive these document photocopy of JEE Main 2020 admit card, passport size photograph, students also have to carry original documents of any valid id, which are given below-
- Pan card driving license, Voter id, Passport, Aadhar Card, Ration Card and PWD certificate (only for physically handicapped students)
Candidates must report to their allotted Exam Center at least 2 hours before the examination candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam center after 8.30 a.m in the morning shift and after- 1.30 p.m in the second shift.
