SBI PO Selection process
There are 3 stages before the final result is declared, that is if the candidate has been selected or not. All these 3 stages are equally important and 1 cannot proceed to further stage if he/she hasn’t cleared the previous stage with min cut off.
Stage 1: Preliminary Exam (100 marks)
In this stage, all the applicants are includes. The applicants have to give an exam of 100 marks and 100 questions. Each question carries 1 mark.
Stage 2: Mains Exam (250 Marks)
Only those who have cleared the preliminary stage and have scored more or equal to the cut off, are allowed to sit in this exam. The ones who couldn’t clear the Stage 1 are not allowed to give this exam.
The cut off is decided such that the number of candidates who cleared the preliminary exam is 10 times the vacancies. The Mains exam is of 250 Marks in which 200 marks are for objective type questions and 50 marks for subjective questions.
Stage 3: Group Exercise and Personal Interviews (50 Marks)
The cut off for this stage is such that only 3 times the total vacancies can enter this stage. The Group exercise is of 20 marks and Personal interview is of 30 marks.
After all these 3 stages, the final merit list is released which consists of Marks scored in Mains and Stage 3. The result of stage 1 i.e. preliminary exam is not included.
SBI Prelims. Dates and Result
In India, every year, more than 10 lakh candidates apply for the Bank PO post of India’s most reputed Bank. In 2018, SBI PO Prelim exam was conducted in the first week of July. And the result was declared on 15th of July 2018.
This year it will be on 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th June 2019. The result can be expected in the first week of July. In 2018, the cut off was 56.75 for General category. For SC,ST and OBC, the cut off were 49,43 and 54.25 respectively to appear for the mains exam.
SBI Mains. Dates and Result
The result will be announced as a pdf file. This file contains the roll number of all the candidates who are eligible for Stage 3. During mains result, the cut off is not declared. But it is announced after the Stage 3 for merit along with the merit list.
Documents required during Stage 3:
Applicants must bring the required documents and certificates during the stage 3. Therefore, one must check if they have the important documents with them.
- ‘No Objection Certificate’ if serving in Government office or public sector including national banks or Institute of Finance.
- If selected, discharge certificate must be provided from the employer.
- Original Documents to prove Eligibility criteria
- Original Date of Birth Proof.
- For reserved category, Caste certificate by competent authority in format given by Government of India.
- For OBC category, declaration that you do not belong to the Creamy Layer as on 22.04.2019.
OBC certificate for ‘Non-creamy layer’ clause, for the period 01.04.2019 to the date of interview.
- For Economically Weaker Section, Income and Asset Certificate by Competent Authority. Format must be prescribed by the Indian Government.
Marks Secured by Candidate and Merit List
After stage 3, marks secured by candidate is published and this can be checked via Logging In to their account. The candidates can see marks in Mains, Group exercise and Interview. The scorecard has details of the Candidate, Marks in Main Exam (objective + subjective), SBI PO cut off (Merit List), and instructions.
At last, the selected students can download the Letter from the website.
