What is the UGC Net/JRF Exam?
UGC NET/JRF Exam is the national level exam conducted to test the lectureship eligibility of the aspirants. Candidates appearing for this exam are generally employed in research or teaching faculty in universities.
There have been many changes in the exam pattern in the current year. The examination is conducted two times in a day. NET/JRF exam opens up many opportunities for students.

What does qualifying the UGC/NET examination mean?
UGC/NET exam is the cherry on top of all the degrees you have. This is a kind of professional certification that qualifies you to become an Assistant professor at any of the state/central or private universities.
Aspirants can also carry on their post-doctorate in any of the prestigious university. The qualified candidates are also given extra preference over the candidates who do not have JRF or NET eligibility.
What is the eligibility to appear for the NET/JRF examination?
To appear for NET/JRF examination one should possess a masters degree. The candidates are selected on the basis of the scores they acquire. The cut-off scores are different for different categories of aspirants.
Any aspirant who is pursuing a masters degree and wishes to become an assistant professor at any university can appear for this exam.

What are the Parameters which you should keep in mind while applying?
All the candidates applying for the NET/JRF position should keep major facts in mind.
The aspirants appearing for JRF should not be greater than 30 years. The applicants under the reserved category might be given some relaxation.
What is the application fee?
The general category fee is 1000 INR.
The OBC category Fee is 500 INR
The SC/ST category Fee is 250 INR
What is the examination pattern?
- In the recent modifications made by UGC, the paper has been divided into two. Paper 1 consist of 50 questions. Paper 2 consist of 100 questions. The complete paper consists of 150 questions. The total maximum marks are 200. There is no provision of negative marking in the examination.
- The examinations are conducted in two languages Hindi and English. The examination is conducted online. There is no provision of Pen-Paper test.
- The first paper is of 60minutes. The second paper is of 2 hours.
- There are multiple-choice questions.
